Matthew Bonas, Yoga Instructor – E-RYT-500
Over the last 15 years Matthew has been immersed in the wellness and fitness community. He has been a student and teacher of yoga, a personal trainer, and a group fitness instructor. His 13 years of experience in a corporate position also provided him the opportunity to wear different hats - database developer, team lead, data analyst, and project manager. Matthew has facilitated yoga, fitness and nutrition workshops as well as local and international yoga retreats. His passion for yoga and fitness has driven him to seek out the best teachers, receive top notch training, and to continually upgrade his skills and knowledge. He completed his yoga training in the birthplace of yoga – Rishikesh, India – earning a RYT-500 certification over four months of intensive study. He also studied under Bernie Clark, one of the world's foremost authorities in yin yoga, completing a 50-hour yin yoga intensive teacher-training course. Matthew has 10 years of experience teaching several different types of yoga including hatha, vinyasa flow, yin, acro yoga, and skills such as hand balancing and handstands. Most recently he also became a certified Anti-Gravity yoga instructor. Matthew has experience teaching different levels from beginner to advanced, and in different environments - gyms, yoga studios, and corporate offices. Matthew is the owner of MBYI, a fitness and wellness facility management and consulting company. He manages LEVEL by Oxford Properties, Richmond-Adelaide Centre's exclusive wellness centre.
